- Roger Muntu, VOA Africa

Okaidja Afroso hopes to use his music to impart knowledge about issues affecting the ocean ecological system and uplift cultural awareness.

Background

Okaidja’s new musical composition from the shores of the Atlantic Gulf of Ghana, draws on ecological knowledge of the fishermen of his native Gadangbe people of Ghana.

The musical collection produced in the Gadanbge language relates to the power of basic rituals of nature and the links that these ancestors had, in particular with the ocean.
