Newman Center Presents 2023-24 Season

- Newman Center

September is here, bringing beautiful days and cooler evenings. While the temperatures outside might be slowly dropping, the heat is on at the Robert and Judi Newman Center for the Performing Arts.

Executive Director Aisha Ahmad-Post has put together a season that expands globally like never before. “This year’s Newman Center audiences will get a chance to experience musicians and dancers with roots in South Asia, Ghana, Israel, Algeria, the Mediterranean and New Zealand.” This includes a performance September 27 by singer/songwriter/musician/dancer Okaidja Afroso who hails from the country of Ghana.

It’s big-city stuff, risky in all the right ways — and the Newman Center has a monopoly on it. They trust their customers’ evolving tastes and they know their venue, which has gained a reputation near and far for its acoustics and is a favorite with performers.
